When she was 19 at the time, she dropped Here, her first single. The song was widely acclaimed by critics as well as the public. It reached the top spot at 19th in both the Canadian Hot 100 as well as the Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone listed the hit as among most popular Songs of 2015. She released her debut Know It All album in the year that followed. Alessia Cara grew up in Toronto, Canada. She was born July 11, 1996 to parents of Italian descent. When she was just 10 years old her parents gave her a guitar, which was the foundation of her love for music. Three years later at 13 years old, she began covering her favorite songs via YouTube a major media platform to prove to the world she possessed the talent skills and determination to develop into a singer. A cover of one of her songs, Sweater Weather, was the one that got her attention. EP Entertainment gave her the chance to write and compose her own music.
